How often should you test your emergency lighting?
It is recommended that you carry out basic checks on your emergency lighting every month. This would include switching it on and making sure that the lights are working and that batteries are not in need of replacing.
It is also recommended that you have your lighting inspected by a professional once a year. The results of all testing and any necessary repairs will be recorded in your safety logbook. If required, this record is then available for inspection.
